die Zeitung = newspaper
die Briefmarke = postage stamp
der Kiosk = small shop
der Brief = letter
der Bus = bus
das Pfund = pound (weight)
die Fahrt = trip
die Pause = break
die Tasche = bag
das Buch = book
Note : The articles (der, die, das) signify the gender of the nouns.
